In this project, the Nokia PSE-V chipset is deployed on Nokia's 1830PSS device platform, allowing Viettel to expand the total network capacity to 25.2Tbps in C-band. In addition, the current C-band system can be conveniently upgraded to C + L band by adding more L band components. That will double the network capacity for Viettel.
The project is very important for Viettel to meet the high demand for transmission capacity which is increasing dramatically every day. Using Nokia's industry-leading coherent optical transmission solutions, they were able to optimize both investment and operating costs while the system always accommodates future expansion needs.
Viettel said that they also want to cooperate with Nokia to develop their network infrastructure further. Viettel's network is now ready for 800G with plans to reach 1Tbps/channel and beyond.
