The electric car that goes all year "without charging" is officially on sale

The Solar EV (sEV) model of Aptera Motors Corp. is equipped with "no need to charge" technology with a 100 kWh battery pack. The car is priced at about $25,900.

The sEV has a range of up to 1000 miles (1,600 km) without recharging the 100 kWh battery pack. The three-wheel electric vehicle benefits from Aptera's long history of development, and uses composite materials to help make the vehicle light.

Moreover, the Aptera sEV is designed in a teardrop shape, so it has a drag coefficient (Cd) of only 0.13, lower than even a Formula 1 racing car. The special feature is also in its simplification, when the car only needs 4 main parts to assemble the complete structure.

With Never Charge technology, the car has 3 square meters of surface joined by 180 solar panels for charging. Theoretically, the Aptera sEV has a range of 72 km/day and can travel 11,000 miles (17,700 km) per year using only sunlight.

The Aptera sEV uses an electric motor integrated into the three wheels for all-wheel drive. The car can accelerate from 0 to 96 km / h in just 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 177 km / h.

The first Aptera sEVs will go into production in 2021, and customers can pre-order them with a deposit of as little as $100.
